Middle School Math Resources

Support learners in grades 6 through 8 with Education.com’s Middle School Math Resources. With over 700 printable worksheets, guided lessons, hands-on activities, and interactive tools, the Learning Library covers key math concepts that prepare students for high school. Many materials are aligned with Common Core State Standards and support instruction in the classroom, at home, or during school breaks.

Sixth grade math resources help students master evaluating both numerical and algebraic expressions with whole-number exponents by applying the order of operations and substituting values for variables. Learners extend the number sense they have built with positive numbers to begin working with negative values. Students learn all about integers and rational numbers, including how to place them on numbers lines, compare them, and find their opposites and absolute values. Sixth grade resources also explore ratios, unit rates, percentages, which help them to build proportional reasoning. Geometry topics include graphing points in all four quadrants of the coordinate plane as well as calculating area, surface area, and volume.

Seventh grade math resources expand skills in operations starting with adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing integers before moving to performing operations with rational numbers. Students solve two-step equations, factor and expand linear expressions, and use proportional relationships to solve multistep real-world problems. Seventh grade geometry activities involve scale drawings, angles, cross sections, volume, and surface area. Probability resources introduce learners to probability models for both simple and compound events.

Eighth grade materials build algebra readiness through work with integer exponents and square and cube roots. Students graph linear equations, calculate slope, solve systems of equations, and explore the concept of functions. Geometry resources explore how to calculate volume for cones, cylinders, and spheres, as well as how to find missing side lengths in right triangles and the distance between two points on the coordinate plane using applications of the Pythagorean theorem. Bivariate data analysis is introduced through scatter plots and two-way tables.

Education.com supports a variety of learning preferences with both digital and print-friendly formats. Filters make it easy to search by grade, topic, or skill, helping educators, parents, and homeschoolers find the right resources for instruction, review, or enrichment.
