Grow a garden with an environmentally-friendly twist by using plant scraps that usually get thrown away.

A fun activity for a hot day, this will give young kids a chance to experiment with beginning science and math â and splash around in the process!

This experiment works due to a simple principle: plants need light. Build a shoebox maze and watch the plant work though the obstacle course, searching for sun.

The garden is the perfect place to practice math and science with preschoolers. Get digging (and counting, sorting, observing at the same time!)
