In this lesson, students will practice empathy through learning the "just like me" mindfulness practice.

Use this lesson to give your students an opportunity to share about their family traditions. Prior to the lesson, they'll complete a worksheet to gather information about the way their family honors their culture and beliefs with traditions. They'll bring their information back to the classroom to share with their peers.

Kids often need to bew taught that listening isn't just hearing someone -- it's thinking about what they have to say, too. In this lesson students will become introduced to the circle process and help put together guidelines for community building, and learn how to listen to their classmatesnot just quietly, but respectfully.

This lesson will make your students realize that even though they take their heart for granted, the heart is working hard to pump blood to different parts of the body to keep them healthy and running!
