Your ELs will analyze CLOZE sentences to understand community vocabulary. It can be a stand-alone lesson or a support lesson to be used prior to the Urban, Suburban, or Rural lesson.

In this lesson, students will practice mindfulness and learn how our minds can be like a puppy. They will learn that we can use mindfulness to train our wandering minds by bringing our thoughts back to our bodies, breathing, or sounds.

Using base ten blocks, cards, and clear cups, your students will practice the concept of borrowing for subtraction problems in this lesson.

Your students will be experts in subtraction with regrouping after this lesson that has them work as a class and individually to perfect their skills.
