Our community relies on different kinds of resources to operate successfully. In this lesson, your students will learn how capital, human, and natural resources are all important for the functioning of a productive society.

Spirituals have a long history in the United States, and often serve to strengthen and motivate people. Students will compare three types of spirituals from different time periods and share their understanding with their peers.

Through examples and non-examples, students will learn what qualifies as a region. Creativity and problem solving skills will be put to the test as students determine the necessary elements that make up a region.
