Snack time can be turned into a first grade reading comprehension activity with words written on refrigerator magnets that your child can use to compose a story. If your young learner is still mastering the alphabet, try the same idea but with letters of the alphabet, or play with other first grade alphabet activities like opening up the fridge and making an alphabetical shopping list.
