Challenge students to find the sum of three addends while playing a fun dice game! Use this scaffolded EL Lesson alone or for more addition practice adding with dice in preparation for the Active Math lesson.

Students will use their hands to mold clay into shapes, then divide those shapes into equal and unequal quarters.

Slice those pieces and mix it up! In this lesson that follows “Slice It Up! Part One,” students will begin recognizing different ways to create equal shares in whole shapes, creating a fraction poster by the end of the lesson.

Students will work together as well as individually to add up coins to a desired amount. This real life skill will be made fun when students get to physically count out their cents!
