Apostrophes Exercises
Practice the art of using apostrophes with our apostrophe exercises. Apostrophe usage isn't always obvious, but we've got what your kid needs to keep apostrophes in their place with our online exercises. Have them try turning words into contractions, or pick the correctly spelled one for a quick refresher. When they're done, they can try a similar-looking punctuation mark: the comma.
Apostrophes are small but mighty...one little punctuation mark can squeeze two or more big words together! They are also used to show possession in nouns, so apostrophes do a lot of work. However, if your student still finds apostrophes to be tricky little things, help them get a handle on their use with our apostrophe exercises. They'll get practice placing them in possessive nouns, finding the word thst has the right apostrophe placement, and condensing parts of sentences to make possessive nouns that use them. Once your child is a little more confident with apostrophes, they can try working with a related piece of punctuation, the comma. Our online exercises utilize a variety of learning approaches, and as always, are written and researched by education experts with hands-on student experience. At Education.com, you can always be sure of the quality of the content we provide. Trust us -- Education is our first name.
